Who you are hiring
That's us. We do the lifting.
The Load Lounge is small on purpose. When you call, you get one of the two people in this photo — not a call centre, not a dispatcher subcontracting your move to whoever is free.
We are on the tools every week: staging installs for property stylists, house moves across the metro, garage clear-outs nobody else wants. The photo above is a home-theatre install mid-job, which is a fairly ordinary Tuesday for us.
It means the person quoting your job is the person carrying your couch down the stairs. That is a good discipline. It is hard to invent an optimistic number when you are the one who has to make it true.
About The Load Lounge
I started this at 19.
Hey, I'm Kelven — the founder of The Load Lounge. I started this business at 19 years old with one truck and a simple idea: that moving house in Melbourne should be affordable, straight with people about the price, and actually good — and that everyone deserves to get more back than they paid for.
From that very first job, the goal was simple: show up on time, work hard, treat people well, and leave every space cleaner than we found it. Word got around, one job turned into two, and before long the phone was ringing faster than I could answer it on my own.
These days The Load Lounge runs a 4.5-tonne enclosed truck and a crew I picked myself — not a labour-hire roster, not whoever answered the ad. They're people I trust to treat your home the way I'd want someone treating my mum's. We still turn up on time, still do all the heavy lifting so you don't have to, and still clean up before we leave. That part has never changed.
We also care about where the rest of it ends up — recycling, donating and disposing of things responsibly wherever we can, because helping you move shouldn't mean tipping everything you left behind into landfill.
And every charge sits on a published rate card — the hourly rate, the stair fee, the travel bands past 30 km. You can read all of it before you speak to anyone, and the invoice is that schedule applied to the hours actually worked. No number invented over the phone just to win the booking.
From one truck and a handful of nervous first customers to a crew that covers all of Melbourne, we've grown a lot — but we've never forgotten what got us here: honest work, good people, and the simple satisfaction of handing someone back the keys to a home that's already set up. We'd love to help you next.
Where we are going
To be the removalist Melbourne recommends by name — because the invoice matched the estimate, and the crew turned up when they said.
Not the biggest fleet in the city. The one people are willing to put their own reputation behind when a friend asks who to call.

Four things we hold to.
One rate card, everyone
The hourly rate, the stair fee and the travel band are published. You are quoted the same schedule whether you found us on a Tuesday afternoon or at 9pm the night before settlement.
The clock is honest
Billing starts at the first job address and stops when the final item is placed — not when we leave the depot. After the 2-hour minimum, time runs in 15-minute increments, so a ten-minute overrun costs ten minutes.
Written down, not remembered
Completion photos, timestamps and job-referenced invoicing on request. Public liability and goods-in-transit cover, with the certificate available before you book.
Enclosed, every job
One fleet spec: a 4.5-tonne enclosed box truck with blankets, straps and trolleys already on board. Your things stay out of the weather and out of sight the whole way.
The three lines
Move it or lose it.
Most moves have a pile that is not coming with you. Because we do removals and rubbish removal on the same truck, the clear-out and the move are one booking and one invoice instead of two contractors and two waiting windows.
Removals
Homes, apartments, offices and single items across greater Melbourne.
Rubbish removal
Deceased estates, garage clear-outs, end-of-lease and hard waste.
Waste disposal
Sorted, weighed and taken to a licensed transfer station — receipts on request.
Where we go
Greater Melbourne.
No call-out fee anywhere in metro Melbourne. Past 30 km from the CBD a flat travel band applies, based on the furthest address on the job — so you can see it coming.
- Melbourne CBD and inner north
- Inner east and south-east
- Bayside and the peninsula corridor
- Western suburbs and Footscray
- Outer metro to 75 km by travel band
- Regional Victoria and interstate by quote
For the trade
We work behind other people's brands.
A large part of the week is staging logistics for property styling teams — warehouse installs, room-by-room placement, de-stages and overflow capacity on peak days. We turn up in front of agents, vendors and homeowners as an extension of your team, and we never approach your clients.
Partner rates and terms
